Trail Challenge 2011

Southern Cross Ranch Trail Challenge was a success!! Teresa did a great job setting up a fun, but challenging course. We had 10 awesome riders competing and we hope to continue to have the trail challenges once every other month.

There were two courses. The first was outside with 5 obstacles and a bonus. Some of the obstacles had more than one element. The obstacles outside included: weaving barrels, teeter-totter, and going through a gate; Up and down a steep hill and Log cavalletties; Cowboy Curtain; 2 ft deep water hole; Square and barrel pattern; and stairs as a bonus.

The second course was in our indoor arena, and included 5 obstacles and a bonus. The obstacles included: Gate; Pin-wheel; Ball; Loading in a trailer with mounting and dismounting; Drag; walking over a tarp; and Roping and tracking our Sparky (roping dummy) as a bonus.

Everyone did a great job, and every horse was very brave! We had a great time and look forward to many more! Thank you to everyone who helped out and to all of our participants.
