Southern Crossfire

Southern Cross' Hot August Nights and Dog Day Morning was great fun! We had 22 cowboy/cowgirls and 2 wranglers on Saturday night, and 20 cowboy/cowgirls and 2 wranglers on Sunday morning. We had members to join us for this two day match that had not been before and we really appreciate their support.
On Saturday night our top spot went to Terry Key, Men's level 4 with a total official time through 4 stages of 80.902, 2nd place went to Eddie Vanderslice also a Men's level 4, with a total official time of 89.733. Nolah McDaniel a Ladies level 3 came in at 3rd with an official time of 92.158.
Sunday morning started with a wonderful devotional from Philip Baker for our cowboy church. Then we jumped right in and settled in to some serious competition. After 4 stages the top spot on Sunday went to Eddie Vanderslice with an official time of 92.746, a very close 2nd went to Nolah McDaniel with her time at 94.016, then another close time for 3rd place went to Sarah Grace Key, Ladies level 2, with an official time of 98.286.
We at Southern Cross thoroughly enjoyed the new friends, the fellowship with our other Cowboy Mounted Shooting friends that we have made over the last competitions. Our balloon setters did an exceptional job with keeping up (with a little help from the golf carts!). And as always food was excellent from Mrs. Jewel.
