Carolyn Smith - Riding Instructor

Carolyn was just inducted into the Alabama Open Horsemen's Association Hall of Fame! Congratulations to Carolyn!!

Carolyn Smith has owned and operated Cypress Pond Quarter Horses in Graceville, Florida for over 30 years. She has bred and trained western pleasure, hunt seat, and halter horses. She has raised several champions, including an AQHA Champion, Majestic Spook, and several PHBA Champions.

Carolyn has been a professional riding instructor for over 20 years. She specializes in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Horsemanship, English Equitation, Trail, and Hunter Under Saddle. Carolyn also has been a professional judge for over 20 years. She frequently judges 4H Horse shows, Foundation Quarter Horse shows, Open shows, and American Stock Horse shows. She has also coached several 4H State Champions as well as AQHA and PHBA. Carolyn was recently the Advanced Stock Seat instructor at the Georgia 4H State Horse School in Perry, Georgia. Carolyn is great with anyone from beginners to seasoned competitors and from children to adults.

Carolyn has a Masters in Education from Auburn University. She was the President for 2 terms and the Youth Advisor for the Northwest Florida Quarter Horse Association.

Carolyn is an excellent instructor and brings a wealth of knowledge to Southern Cross Ranch!
